Event Description
The Metropolitan Archbishop of Monrovia, The Most Reverend Dr. Gabriel Blamo Jubwe on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, met with the seminarians of the Archdiocese (his Diocese) upon their return from St. Charles Lwanga Pre Major Seminary in Pipeline, Montserrado County and St. Paul's College-Seminary in Gbarnga, Bong County. Three of them just completed their long rural Pastoral work in the Archdiocese and will return to St. Paul's in Gbarnga in October.
The seminarians are now on long vacation at their various homes.
At the meeting, Archbishop praised them for saying YES to the call of God. At the same time he encouraged them to be prayerful and perservering as they discern their vocation to the priesthood.
At St. Charles Lwanga Pre Major Seminary, students undergo a year of Formation. Here they are taught English, Latin, French, Christian Doctrine, etc. This is called Spiritual Year.
Upon completion of the Spiritual Year program, students that are recommended are sent to St. Paul's College-Seminary in Gbarnga to study Philosophy and the Humanities for seven years.
