Archbishop’s Pastoral Visitation to Mother of Jesus Christ Catholic School, Dolo’s Town

Archbishop’s Pastoral Visitation to Mother of Jesus Christ Catholic School, Dolo’s Town

Event Description

On Friday, May 8, 2026, Most Reverend Dr. Gabriel Blamo Jubwe paid a historic pastoral visitation to Mother of Jesus Christ Catholic School in Dolo’s Town, Margibi County. The visit marked the first official visit of an Archbishop to the institution since its establishment.

During his meeting with the students, the Archbishop emphasized the importance of preserving the Catholic identity of the institution and encouraged the students to remain committed to discipline, faith, and academic excellence.

He challenged them to believe in themselves and work diligently toward achieving better results in their studies. The Archbishop further stressed the importance of education in shaping responsible and distinguished individuals within society.

Using his personal journey and eventual ascendancy as Archbishop of Monrovia, Archbishop Jubwe inspired the students never to lose hope in their dreams and aspirations.

In a fatherly appeal, Archbishop Gabriel Blamo Jubwe warned the students against the use of dangerous substances and harmful behaviors that could destroy their future and bring shame upon their families and society.

During a separate meeting with the faculty and staff, the Archbishop expressed sincere gratitude for their years of dedicated service, especially under difficult and challenging conditions. The teachers, however, raised concerns about the institution’s low student population, attributing the situation to high tuition costs, difficulties with tuition payment plans, and the emergence of several less expensive schools within the surrounding communities.

A representative of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) explained that many residents of Dolo’s Town are retired Firestone workers and small-scale business people who survive without stable monthly incomes, making school fees difficult for many families to afford.

In response, Archbishop Jubwe requested the administration and staff to carefully outline their recommendations and submit them to him so that appropriate solutions may be explored for the continued growth and sustainability of the school.

The pastoral visitation concluded in an atmosphere of hope, encouragement, and renewed commitment to Catholic education and evangelization within the Archdiocese of Monrovia.
