Sis. Maria Uchenna Ujumu Celebrates Perpetual Profession (June 28, 2026)MONROVIA – It was a day of profound spiritual joy and renewal for the Catholic Church in Liberia as the Archdiocese of Monrovia celebrated the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at the Sacred Heart Cathedral. The occasion was doubly blessed by the Perpetual Profession (Final Vows) of Rev. Sr. Maria Uchenna Ujumu, CMBS.Sr. Maria Uchenna, a member of the Clarissan Missionaries of the Blessed Sacrament currently serving at the Apostolic Nunciature in Liberia, offered her lifelong "Yes" to God before a joyful congregation of clergy, religious, and lay faithful. The Holy Mass was celebrated by His Excellency, Walter Erbì , the Apostolic Nuncio to Liberia. In his inspiring homily, the Nuncio drew deeply from the lives of the patron saints of the day been celebrated by the Archdiocese, calling upon all Catholics to emulate the profound unity modeled by Saints Peter and Paul."These two great pillars of our Church were united in this life and remain united in heaven," the Nuncio reminded the faithful. "When our hearts are united in Christ, we are truly able to support one another, live in genuine solidarity, and build up our families and the Church just as the Apostles did. Unity naturally leads to charity and selfless service."In his closing remarks, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Monrovia, Most Reverend Dr. Gabriel Blamo Jubwe, expressed his heartfelt gratitude for Sr. Maria Uchenna's witness. He used the beautiful occasion to make an earnest appeal to the young people of the Archdiocese- represented by the Youth Secretariat, urging them to have a sober and prayerful reflection on how they are responding to God's call to the priesthood or religious life.Archbishop Jubwe emphasized that seeing a young woman joyfully consecrate her entire life to God and the service of His people speaks volumes to the youth of today."The Final Profession of Sister Uchenna is a powerful sign for our young people," the Archbishop stated. "It proves that giving one's life entirely to God is not only possible, but beautifully fulfilling."The Archdiocese of Monrovia extends its warmest congratulations and prayers to Rev. Sr. Maria Uchenna Ujumu as she begins this new chapter of perpetual consecration.
