Arcdiocesan Youth Secretariat Concludes Successful 2025 Youth Festival, Emphasizes Dignity of the Human Body

Annual Youth Festival December 26 to 31, 2025Theme: "Corpus Templus Spiritus Sancti " - "The Body, the Temple of the Holy Spirit "The Director of the Archdiocesan Youth Secretariat (Rev. Fr. Johnny-Clement Kombo) at the just ended Annual Youth Festival called on Youth to refrain from treating their bodies as objects for they are temple of the Holy Spirit . He reminded the 271 youth gathered at the Annual Youth Faith Formation Camp (Youth Fest) at the Stella Maris Polytechnic University that as Christians , we live in a world that often treats the body as object, encourages abuse of the body through drugs, alcohol, sexual immorality, violence, etc.Father Johnny-Clement admonished the youth to refrain from self-harm, pornography, and unhealthy lifestyles. He drew their attention to one key principle from the Catholic Social Teaching - Human Dignity. Our body has a dignity; our life has value because we are created in the image of God and at such, our bodies belong to God, thus, they must be taken cared of and respected.Every youth must take care of the body by 1. Eating nourishing food 2. Doing exercise to stay active 3. Resting and sleeping well 4. Avoiding harmful stuff like drugs and substances ; 5.
