Event Description
Unmasking the Sacred: St. Pius X Youth Reflect on Identity, Social Media, and Service- Saturday, September 5 to Sunday, September 6, 2026As part of the Youth Month celebration, the youth of St. Pius X Parish participated in a faith formation workshop led by Rev. Fr. Johnny-Clement Kombo.Titled “Unmask the Sacred – Identity & Social Media,” the workshop invited young people to reflect on their dignity as children of God. The session focused on helping the youth:1. Recognize and appreciate their God-given dignity and identity.2. Examine how social media influences self-image and relationships.3. Reflect on how digital platforms affect moral choices and personal behavior.4. Apply principles of Catholic Social Teaching to online communication.5. Use social media responsibly, positively, and in alignment with Christian values.Following the workshop, the youth deepened their relationship with God through Eucharistic Adoration and and Holy Mass. The group then gathered for lunch and outdoor activities. The afternoon was filled with joy and fellowship through talent presentations, games, and entertainment—offering the young people an opportunity to celebrate their gifts, strengthen friendships, and enjoy one another's company in a spirit of Christian community.Sunday, September 6, 2026: Thanksgiving Mass and Induction Ceremony held at the Parish-The Youth Month activities continued on Sunday with a Thanksgiving Mass, bringing the parish community ( including the Outstantions- Division 16 and Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Community) together in gratitude to God for a successful celebration. The liturgy included the induction of Lectors and Altar Servers who will serve the parish and its outstations. This ceremony marked an important step in encouraging young people to take an active role in the life and mission of the Church. Through service at the altar and in proclaiming the Word of God, they are guided to grow in faith, responsibility, leadership, and service. The Youth Month celebration was a meaningful blend of faith formation, prayer, fellowship, recreation, and service—a powerful reminder of the vital place young people hold in the life of the Catholic Church. From the Pastoral team of St. Pius X Parish
